What was the highlight of Grand Hôtel Des Thermes
Overall good but desperately needs some much needed improvements
This isn’t my first stay at this hotel, we go there frequently, it’s conveniently located and I like the spa. The restaurant new years dinner was an experience, really enjoyed the wine. The Lobby staff were very friendly and attentive and very polite. Very little waiting too.
It’s the first time am staying on The emerald side.The rooms on that side are very small and very badly sound proofed. It’s so badly sound proofed we could hear people walking up down the hall way or knocking on doors. The very loud vacuuming and loud speaking cleaning lady didn’t help things. Being woken like that isn’t pleasant ! Could you please sound proof them better, it felt like the walls were made out of cardboard. We’re light sleepers, that was a nightmare. And please tell the cleaners not to speak at the top of their voices considering the bad sound proofing. Also please revise the spa opening hours, being unable to swim or use the spa after 7pm is ridiculous especially if you arrive late and just want to unwind after a long drive. The bar. the sandwich was soggy and ???? meh. Quite disappointing .It’s really a shame considering how good cap horn is. That menu needs to change.

We had a very pleasant time but the eating arrangements were not very good.
Room was very comfortable.
Breakfast. It was difficult to get a breakfast that was not the full breakfast which I did not want. I wanted only muesli, yoghurt, fruit, milk and a green tea. Virtually impossible unless I took the full 29euro breakfast on offer.
